Do you think you would like to help us get the word out about our Peace Parks Project?
…volunteers transforming vacant lots into peace parks in North Lawndale …..we are taking back 10 vacant lots and creating beauty where there was none, planting grass and flowers and trees…making green space for folks to sit on benches to read the paper, kids to roll on the grass, young people to stroll along pathways and enjoy nature. Everyone will view the peace sculptures and abstract sculptures paying homage to African American heroes, plus large "puzzle murals" filled with painted portraits of African American heroes created by hundreds of area children .
If so, would you please urge everyone you know to support our organization, and PPP in particular. We are looking for volunteers to join us on Saturdays at 2p.m. for organizational meetings, plus, donations both cash and inkind for the Peace Parks of North Lawndale project!

Our executive director, Dianna C. Long accepts an award for her humanitarian efforts through her work at Chicago Urban Art Retreat Center. She says- "I am so very committed to contributing to leveling the playing field the people who could be viewed as the have-nots occupy. The distance between the haves and the have-nots seems to increase. The difference between those who are humane and those who are not humane increases substantially each year. People increasingly become more desensitized to the pain of others." I cannot just sit by and watch this happen.
