New Coordinator Jen Hilton for KIDZ!
Jen Hilton is our newest volunteer and she will head up the summer effort to provide services for children. Jen is inviting anyone who wants to volunteer to help kids in the N. Lawndale neighborhood where we are located. The children really can use friends, mentors, role models, and teachers who can help them enjoy the summer while participating in UAR’s summer program for children through 12 yrs. old. Babies, moms, toddlers, children will be invited to participate this summer.
We are now recruiting volunteers to attend a VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION Meeting. The meeting will take place at UAR 1957 S. Spaulding Ave. Chicago,IL. 60623. on Saturday, May 22 at 1 p.m. We urge neighborhood adults and other adults who can spare some time for children this summer to attend and see if it could be for them. We hope to encourage volunteers with 2 or more hours to give on Saturdays in June, July, and August to come hear more. Jen can answer your questions. There is a registration involved for childrens’ parents and guardians to be completed by June 19, 2010. The program is free for children to participate. Children in the neighborhood and other kids are welcome.
